Update

Can't be long. I am in Oklahoma. Already rasped some skin off, gave myself a few good blisters over callous from the summer and theres currently a gopher digging a mound to the left of me and a mini horse pawing the fence for more crackers to the right. It is dark and I am comfortable in a sweater out here. Be jealous.

I have not been to any blogs and probably will not make it to many soon. Unfortunately.

The good news is I am doing good. Got a good room mate and lots of horses to trim and shoe.

The bad news is....

I miss my Horses (and mr.pony) like mad and it's not even been a week. Only 11 ish more to go.

I still say make friends with gophers. Gophers and Scorpions.
And I am jealous of warm weather.

Hope you get more time eventually on internet cause we need to facebook vandalize.

Just think of it this way- when you get back home, the grass will be green, snow all gone, and the horses will be shedding their fuzzies. And you will have a career that will hopefully keep you busy enough that you won't have to clean so many stalls!

Glad you got a good roommate and you're having fun. :) It must suck being away from the horses so long, but you'll make it!

Be careful of those rasps and have some fun :)

Hang in there girl, it'll be well worth it in the end. So, is the gopher there for a trim? ;o)

Go Sydney! I'd say enjoy the new scars in the making, but frankly, those suckers HURT like BLAZES.

Wishing you all the best. Learn LOTS!

It will start to go by fast :) Sorry you've already rasped your knuckles--I have the scars to prove I've done that many times myself. Try to have a good time and you'll be home before you know it!

Good to hear you arrived safe and sound and that you're settled in. I can imagine your hands are going to be pretty beat up before you're finished.

Sorry you are homesick for your ponies already but that was probably a given. That's a long time to be away from your equine friends and it's probably the length of time that triggers the missing them right from the start. You hadn't even left home yet and I was already feeling for you knowing you'd be missing them once you did.

Have a great time on this journey! I know you're going to learn tons!

HI There Girlie with a rasp and hammer!
I can't tell you how happy I am for you to be there!!!
(weather aside) we are mild here too..not warm but not under white or slick.
I am jealous...but not for obvious reasons..I wish YOU could be my farrier!!! I am still saving up for the $300. box of shoes, clips and setting tool..then I have to find a competant Farrier!

Well, I bet your ponys miss you too..hang in, I know it is difficult without them.
Keep up the good work and wear your gloves for goodness sake!
