When the belly is full, the tongue will speak

It speaks a lot.

Last year in the beginning of September Indigo lacerated her shoulder. She walked sideways for a few days and couldn't be out with the other horses in case she tore open her stitches.
She hated being in a stall at night for two weeks. Every morning when I went to clean the stall and let her out by herself she would explode around at a gallop in the round pen, bucking, farting and expressing her pent up energy for the first few minutes like a spring struck yearling. So not like my normally laze around and eat things mare.
Last year to amuse myself and keep her entertained I made her bob for apples. She figured out the bucket right away and drank most of the water before picking it up with her teeth and tipping it over. I kept saying one day, I am gonna get a deeper bucket. Today I got the deeper bucket.I also got a lot of apples. Deer and horse apples are about $3 for a half a bushel down the road. Perfect fit for one of the flat back buckets.

Add a (deeper) bucket and some water and voila, bobbing for apples.

She stuck her nose right in there and started blowing bubbles.
No luck, this bucket is too deep. Even after drinking some of it she can't pin an apple on the bottom, last years tactic. Then she got frustrated and tried to bite one. No luck there either.

There was a lot of spitting and backwashing.
Look at the colour of the water now. Yum...
Pawing just has to work.
Maybe the other hoof.
Indigo, dumping the bucket is not how we bob for apples.

Then the tongue speaks.

It speaks loud and long of how good those two darned apples were.
oooooooooommmmm~~~~~~noooooommmmmm

lol I sent you a reply on your blog but haha! I think your on the waiting list for who gets this camera when I am done with it. Everyone wants it. It's all in the lens and the pusher of the shutter/adjuster of the settings.

oo then perhaps the better question is what lens do you use? I think my problem is that I've never gotten anything other than a kit lens... I'm a horrible photograph-ess! I know! but I spend all my money on the ponies!

Great post- love the photos! I had my horses bob for apples a couple of years ago. Scout did the best. He dove right in and chomped down.
